FDA Warns Simmons Prepared Foods Inc. To Pull Back 2M Pounds Of Chicken

Chicken is a food product that many love and craving for almost on a daily basis. However, all the chicken lovers have a piece of bad news coming their way and it is that Simmons Prepared Foods Inc. has been warned to recall a massive amount of its poultry products. The company called back more than 2 million pounds of poultry products as they were found to be tainted with metal. FDA has advised the company to send alert messages on a nationwide scale to avoid any health damage. Simmons’ recalled items included brand’s tenderloins, breast meat, chicken wings, whole birds, and legs that were produced between October 21, 2019, and November 4, 2019.

The contaminated poultry products were found to have been shipped across Oklahoma, Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Arizona, California, and Minnesota. The health officials have thus advised the people to look into their freezers and have these products either thrown away or exchanged. The people having queries can contact the sales department of Simmons Prepared Foods Inc. at 888-831-7007. The poultry products imprinted with the establishment numbers P-1949, P-486, or P-5837 are advised to take the necessary action. Until now, no reports regarding ill health have been reported. However, concerned individuals could consult their physicians.

On a similar note, Simmons Prepared Foods Inc. has announced that the operations have started mounting up at its latest $300-million plant located in western Benton County. The plant sized 315,000 square feet has shown a huge escalation on the production scale and the plant is expected to reach its full production in January 2020. The manufacturing unit, safety, product quality, and hygiene are the basic factors that the plants are focusing on. By 2020, the plant will transition its employee number from 900 to 1,200 and could also reach up to 2,300 by 2022. The annual payroll is expected to reach $86 Million by 2022. The company plans to have its poultry, pet, and animal nutrition products provided to customers across the globe.
